Our conversation of last week gave me some interesting things to think about. In addition it prompted several conversations with my counterparts overseas..
I can tell you the following:


1. All tooling is the customers property once paid for. Typically 50% with the purchase order and the balance upon sample approval.


2. He would have the right to remove it at any time. However costs of crating and transportation would be at customer's expense naturally.


3. In addition you have the word of both myself and our overseas counterparts that we will not use the tooling for other customers. The only exception is if the customer, for whatever reason, asked us to do so.


4. The nature of my business (and overseas counterparts) is to make parts for our OEM customers. These parts have always been components and not the entire finished assembly that our customer would ship to his customer. That in itself should give reassurance that we would not be in a position to "knock off" our customer's product line.

Our goal is to sell our customers parts for the next 20 years.  We can only do that by acting as our customer's partner and only acting in the best interest of our customer!
